Ray Beckham Memorial Scholarship

Background

Ray Beckham was a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in agriculture. While at MSU, Ray was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and ROTC.  He saw active duty as an Army 2nd Lieutenant in the 25th Infantry Division in Lazon, Phillipines as part of General MacArthur's campaign and the occupation of Japan.  Honorably discharged in 1946, he graduated from MSU in 1948 and returned to Shaw and began a lifetime of farming cotton, soybeans and rice.


Criteria

1. Be a full-time student at Mississippi State University.

2. Be a veteran or active service member, or dependent of a veteran or active service member of any branch of service.
